    Humly are recruiting for an experienced Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant to support a Reception class at a primary school in Blackburn from 2 November 2026, after the October half-term. This full-time role will involve providing general classroom support within Reception, alongside welfare assistant duties for the Reception class for 30 minutes of the working day.

    This Level 2/Level 3 Teaching Assistant role would suit an experienced Teaching Assistant, Early Years Teaching Assistant or education professional with previous experience working in an EYFS setting. The school is looking for someone reliable, caring and confident who can support young children with their learning, development and daily routines. For the right candidate, there is potential for the role to develop into a longer-term or permanent placement.

    • Supporting a Reception class

    • Monday-Friday

    • Working hours: 08:45-15:30

    • 30-minute unpaid lunch break

    What You'll Be Doing

    • Providing general classroom support within Reception

    • Supporting children's learning and development through the EYFS

    • Helping children access play-based learning and classroom activities

    • Supporting early years routines and transitions

    • Encouraging children's confidence, independence and communication

    • Helping maintain a calm, safe and engaging Reception environment

    • Working closely with the Reception class teacher

    • Carrying out welfare assistant duties for the Reception class for 30 minutes each working day

    • Supporting pupils with daily routines and welfare needs

    • Building positive and trusting relationships with young pupils

    • Working as part of the wider school team

    You'll Be a Good Fit If You...

    • Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent

    • Have previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or similar education role

    • Have previous experience working within an EYFS setting

    • Are confident supporting Reception-aged children

    • Understand the principles of early years learning and development

    • Are patient, caring and nurturing

    • Can support play-based learning and classroom routines

    • Are reliable and adaptable

    • Can build positive relationships with young children

    • Are comfortable supporting welfare needs within a Reception setting

    • Can work effectively alongside class teachers and wider school staff

    • Are available Monday-Friday from 08:45-15:30
